It's an old song, a long, drawn out melody that plays itself out time and time again. Her life as Kikyo was not the first, and her life as Kagome will not be the last. No matter who she is, no matter who he is, she finds him. Each time, he’s drawn to her-- the hapless moth circling round her flame, eagerly rushing to be devoured.

Kagome died fighting Naraku. So did he. But here they are again, with new names and new faces, and she’s going to burn him again.

There’s no point in even trying to fly away.
